THE QUEEN LOZIKEYI LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

Inspiring a generation of African leaders

The Queen Lozikeyi Leadership Program seeks to inspire, empower and equip the next generation of female leaders by bringing together young women from different socio-economic backgrounds and investing in their potential. The program will promote their personal, leadership and professional development and provide them with tools to enable them to tackle challenges faced by their communities. During the program, participants will go through workshops, team building activities and mentorships.

ANNE-SHARLENE MURAPA

Ann-Sharlene is a young woman who was born in Zimbabwe and raised in South Africa. As a result of this, her love for social development was born. She is interested in the arts and sees them as a tool that can be used for development. She is currently studying Global Challenges in Governance with a focus on Digital Storytelling and Women Empowerment. She has been involved with numerous organisations that empower young people including The BEAR Foundation, UNFPA & Johnson and Johnson's DREAMS TAA as well as the Africa Matters Initiative. She is a contributor to an on campus initiative that looks at empowering artists as well as Campeedia which is an online media company that tells authentic African Stories.

BETHEL JOSEPH

Bethel is an intelligent young woman whose aim is to enrich young people’s lives and make a difference that counts. She is the current Voice Culture President at her high school  and in this capacity she has managed to host a successful event as well as help girls become more confident and speak effectively. As a class monitress she managed to ensure her class donated food and clothing for the benefit of about 20 children. She is a Miss Teen Intellect Zimbabwe 2020 finalist and has partnered with Vasikana Project to discuss everything concerning menstruation and how to help young women. She aims to educate her community and provide opportunities for all young people, regardless of their background.

CHARMAINE MUPITA

Charmaine has a zeal and passion to empower girls and young women and does so in her capacity as a Young Leader at the Girl Guides Association of Zimbabwe. She has volunteered in Rwanda and through the Action on Body Confidence Programme has helped girls to be confident in their bodies. 
She is studying towards a degree in Forensic Science and is an aspiring entrepreneur with interests in agriculture and manufacturing.

COURTNEY MASUKU

Courtney is a motivated and self-driven young woman. She has held positions such as Duty Teacher in High School, where her leadership skills grew. As a Student Operations Assistant, she has participated in the implementation of community development projects in the field of water supply and sanitation. These projects resulted in communities having clean water supplies as well as improving their livelihoods and nutrition through community gardens. She is pursuing a Bachelors' degree in Environmental Science and Health and would like to be an Environmental Health Practitioner. She is committed to improving public health and ensuring the provision of clean and sustainable water and sanitation facilities for the most marginalised communities.

ESTHER KAMUNHUKAMWE

Esther aims to create opportunities in her community and would like to start an income-generating project for women. As the school head girl at a new school, she embarked on inspiring and helping students study and as a result they were able to get better results.
She has a diploma in filmmaking where she majored in film directing and scriptwriting. Her dream is to make films that encourage women to rely on themselves and work hard.

IVAINASHE CHITSIKA

Ivainashe is passionate about helping young people. As a house representative at her university, she works to ensure all duties are done and she also serves as a liaison between her peers and the accommodation providers. In high school she held positions such as vice head girl, prefect and class monitress. These helped develop her leadership skills . She is the Public Relations Officer (P.R.O) for AFM on campus, which is an on campus Christian group and often serves as a parental figure to other young people as she offers them counsel. Ivainashe is a problem-solver and enjoys tackling different issues that people give her. Ivainashe is a pharmacy student and  wants to be a dispensing pharmacist in the future.

KUNDAI CHASINDA

Kundai is a young woman who is motivated and does not give up. She once lost her position as school prefect because she protested for gender equality. She is the founder of the DREAMS club, and through that platform designed and made reusable pads that were donated to girls in rural areas. As a Grassroot soccer coach, she has educated children on gender parity and provided assistance to victims of abuse. Kundai is an Adolescent Girl and Young Woman ambassador under PSI and has helped distribute sanitary wear to girls as well as assist young women to access reproductive health services. Her hope is to inspire women to be comfortable in their own skin and body, and she plans on starting an inclusive online magazine

LUNGANI MOYO

Lungani has always aspired for greatness. Over the years she won various prizes for her academic achievements, her greatest being the first female to obtain 10 As at O level at her high school. This earned her a scholarship for her A level. She broke another record at her school in 2016  when she became the first female to receive a trophy for being the best student in both Physics and Chemistry. That same year she started her community service at Qinisani Orphanage where she and her friends spend time with the children and donate clothes. She would like to start an initiative to help more children in orphanages.A Civil and Water Engineering student, she would like to become one of the best engineers in the country.

MILLICENT MUFAMBI

Millicent Mufambi is an ambitious young woman with great leadership potential. In High School, she created a new club that was a safe space for girls to freely express themselves through music, acting and art. This initiative led to the school building a studio for this. As a result of her academic excellence and leadership, she was awarded the Joshua Nkomo Scholarship by the Higherlife Foundation. She is currently a Computer Science student at the National University of Science and Technology. She has a lot of experience in software production especially in music production. Her dream is to become a software developer once she completes school. She is currently the Vice-President for Coding girls club, a club she helped create to empower women in this field.

MINENHLE TSHUMA

Minenhle is a Computer Systems student who is quick to learn new skills and enjoys hard work.
She holds many leadership positions at her church and some of these include Branch Secretary, Sunday school teacher and Girls Christian Union treasurer. Being a youth leader has taught her many valuable lessons about leadership and working with people. She would like to start an initiative to teach girls in her community about vegetables they can plant to sell to the community and supermarkets. She was a volunteer mentor for a Girls in Stem program.

NOKUTHULA SITHOLE

She is a final year student studying towards a degree in Environmental Science and Health. She has an entrepreneurial spirit and is involved in retail business, selling clothes and accessories. She is the co-founder of Umz'omhle Private Limited, a cleaning services company. Nokuthula is part of a company owned by young entrepreneurs called El-Agua. It focuses on climate and water issues and finding ways of mitigating them. She currently heads a project that focuses on children living in orphanages and helps prepare them for life after they leave the homes. Part of the project involves teaching them skills they can use to earn a living  such as sewing shoes and making detergents.

RUWARASHE MUJOKOJI

Ruwarashe is an energetic young woman who is full of potential and big dreams, one of them being opening a scholarships organisation for underprivileged girls. From leading a group called Interaction Club where she was the intelligence director, she has learnt many valuable lessons about leadership and community. One of her dreams is to open a firm for lawyers that will serve her community for free.
